Supermax is a leading manufacturer of disposable rubber gloves which are exported to over 165 countries worldwide in the regions of America, Europe, Middle East, Asia and the South Pacific. Supermax has developed a range of successful brands such as SUPERMAX®, AURELIA® and MAXTER® which are trusted and recognised by laboratories, hospitals, pharmacists, doctors, and surgeons around the world.
To meet the growing world demand for latex examination gloves, the Supermax Group is able to produce over 23 billion pieces of gloves per year out of its ten (10) manufacturing plants in Malaysia, all equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, energy-efficient systems and research and development facilities. In the 1st quarter of CY2025, the Group has commenced production at its manufacturing plant in USA. The US plant is located on a 215-acre campus in Brazoria County, Texas, with the 1st of 4 planned phases having been completed earlier this year, designed to produce up to 400 million gloves per month. When fully completed, this plant will be able to produce 19.2 billion gloves per year to meet domestic consumption in the US.
The company distributes its gloves through its own distribution centres set up around the world as well as in collaboration with a wide network of distributors globally.
The Supermax Group had also become Malaysia’s first home-grown contact lens manufacturing company after commissioning its first manufacturing facility back in 2016 and carrying out extensive R&D activities in the UK. It has since built up its product presence in over 60 countries.
Supermax has eight (8) own distribution centres cum corporate offices operating in the United States of America, Canada, Brazil, United Kingdom, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan; and collaborates with over 1,200 independent distributors around the world.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The Supermax Group was founded in 1987 as a trading business distributing latex gloves. From humble beginnings, the founders were motivated by their dream of producing premium quality gloves of their own. They worked hard towards this and in 1989 they efforts came to fruition when they started their first manufacturing facility with a small team of committed and dedicated employees. With a business foresight and in answering the Government’s call to brand Malaysian products, Supermax ventured into own brand manufacturing and became the first OBM (own brand manufacturing) latex glove manufacturer in Malaysia when it launched its first brand, SUPERMAX®.
Supermax soon became Malaysia’s homegrown glove player, through brand embodiment, creative packaging, and premium quality products, Supermax gained a substantial foothold in and sizeable share of the global market. This is indeed a commendable achievement in view of the highly competitive nature of this global business.
The success of the SUPERMAX® brand has encouraged the Company to continue its efforts on niche marketing and create brand differentiation through the provision of superior and consistent quality control as well as product innovation. Today, Supermax’s brands of products are well recognised for superior quality and continue to be the products of choice among consumers worldwide.
